Detailed Description+

Assesses personality traits that are relevant to traffic psychology like sense of social responsibility, self-control, mental stability and risk avoidance. A number of studies have demonstrated the relevance of these traits to safe driving behavior by showing that they are linked to accident numbers and also to minor safety risks such as speeding. The test can be used by practitioners who have been trained in psychological assessment in the context of traffic and HR psychology.

Using a free response scale, respondents rate the extent to which statements about specific situations apply to them. Each previous answer can be corrected once.

Scoring+

The following main variables are scored:

  • Mental stability: the extent to which the respondent’s moods and opinions fluctuate, and how difficult or easy it is to unsettle or hurt him/her or put/her under stress.
  • Sense of responsibility: measure of the individual’s values and adjustment to social norms.
  • Self-control: the level of conscientiousness, discipline and impulsiveness.
  • Risk avoidance: The extent to which the respondent avoids risks when driving and instead exhibits behavior that prevents risks.
