Assesses divergent thinking and figural fluency. The test is used in the investigation of mental and neurological disorders. It assesses deficits and is useful in preparing therapeutic interventions.
One test form.
The test consists of squares, each of which contains five dots (like the number five on a dice). The dots can be connected by means of straight lines. Respondents produce as many patterns as they can within two minutes.

Controlled Mode
The following main variable is scored: Figural fluency: The ability to maintain the production of ideas (total number of patterns produced).
The additional variables Number of patterns consistent with the rules and Perseveration function as aids to interpretation of the main variable. They indicate how many patterns were shown once (consistent with the rules) or repeatedly (repetition errors).
The different strategies used to generate ideas for new patterns (addition, subtraction, same number of lines and rotation/reflection) are also scored.
