Measures vocational and professional interests for ages 12+. The test is based on the theories from Holland (1985) and indicates the scope of interest in the realistic (R), investigative (I), artistic (A), social (S), enterprising (E), and conventional (C) area. Career suggestions and interpretation assistance are provided using the interest type determined based on these interests. The AIST-3 is therefore suitable as an attitude and interest test, in particular regarding vocational and career guidance.

The scores are obtained by summing the points relating to the relevant activities. In addition, the interest type that corresponds to the respondent's three main interest types is determined. Career suggestions and aids to interpretation that are in keeping with this interest tendency are provided. Special assessment elements (hexagon, interest type, career suggestions) are used for the graphic display as well as for categorizing the results and how they fit with different jobs.
