Detailed Description+

Assesses individual behavior patterns and processing methods in individuals with chronic pain.
The results of this questionnaire provide a basis for drawing up treatment plans and monitoring the progress of pain therapy. The test thus facilitates the verification of indications in the context of behavioral medicine and identifies individual tendencies and coping options in dealing with pain. FSV is therefore used in clinical neuropsychology.

Task+

Using a five-point answer scale, respondents indicate the extent to which particular statements relating to the experience of pain and pain-related behavior apply to them. The previous answer can be corrected.

Scoring+

The following main variables are scored:

  • Avoidance: Measure of avoidance behavior and social withdrawal as a reaction to the perception or expectation of pain.
  • Cognitive control: The extent of coping opportunities – relaxation, diversion of attention, self-instruction.
  • Social support: The extent of perceived support and attention from a partner.
  • Activity: Measure of the maintenance of or return to physical and social activity and of illness-related social skills.
