Detailed Description+

Measures the perception of hazards, knowledge of specific dangerous situations in traffic as well as handling these situations.

The test is used in the assessment of fitness to drive.

Task+

Video-supported dynamic traffic situations are presented from the perspective of a bicyclist, a moped rider, a light motorcyclist, a motorcyclist, and a car driver.

The respondents’ task is to recognize an immediate risk to them.
a) press a certain key as quickly as possible to indicate recognition of the hazard
b) choose the hazard from a set list of hazards that they perceived
c) select the reaction from a set list of possible reactions that they would exhibit in the situation
d) specify which possible reactions would objectively be the best
e) choose from a set list which traffic relevant characteristics they perceived in the video

Scoring+

The following main variables are scored:

  • Immediate hazard recognition: The ability to recognize accident-relevant hazards.
  • Obtaining an overview: The ability to obtain a good overview of the traffic situations and to find, identify, and remember relevant details.

In addition, the test measures the ability to name hazards correctly, act correctly in the dangerous situation and assess depending on the situation which behavior objectively would have been the best.
