Detailed Description+

The TACO is a test for measuring attention and concentration. The test makes it possible to measure selective attention and concentration, selective sustained attention, and divided attention.

Since these are a very basic ability which is correlated with a large variety of behaviors, the application area of the TACO is very broad. The test was primarily developed for the human resources area and for professions in the area of safety & security assessment, in particular.

Test forms+

Two parallel test forms are available for measuring each of the assessed dimensions:

  • Selective attention and concentration: standard form (S1) and parallel form (S2)
  • Selective sustained attention: standard form (S3) and parallel form (S4)
  • Divided attention: standard form (S5) and parallel form (S6)
Task+

In test forms S1 through S4, the respondent’s task is to find target stimuli in a matrix of nine stimuli per test page and to mark them. The stimuli to be marked are displayed above the stimulus matrix on every test page. The respondents are given 6 seconds to complete each test page.

In test forms S5 and S6, the respondent’s task is to assess two stimuli (left and right) as to whether the number of elements pictured is the same in both stimuli. This task must be completed simultaneously on two separate channels (top and bottom) which are presented independently of one another.
