Measures work-related cognitive skills on the basis of the three factors of logical reasoning, verbal ability and numerical ability. This intelligence test battery has been developed with special reference to the prediction of success in everyday office work. The item material is based on everyday work situations, thereby ensuring that candidates are highly motivated. SMART is therefore used in staff and management assessments.

The candidate is asked to imagine that he/she is starting work in a fictive large company. In the course of the working day the candidate is given a number of different tasks, such as planning the day’s schedule, preparing a talk, organizing travel for a member of the board and checking the previous year’s balance sheet. Each task has to be completed within a particular time window.
