Scoring+

The following main variables are scored:

Three global indicators provide information on general mental stress, aggregated across all symptom areas

The Global Severity Index (GSI) relates the intensity of stress to the 90 statements of the SCL-90-R and thus serves as a suitable individual indicator for estimating the currently existing mental impairment level.

The Positive Symptom Distress Index (PSDI) shows the average impairment level regarding the symptoms specified. This global indicator can therefore be considered as a measure of intensity of the existing symptoms.

The Positive Symptom Total (PST) provides an indication via the number of symptoms specified (i.e. at least the response category „a little“ was specified) – regardless of the actual degree of impairment. This global indicator can therefore be interpreted as a measure of the heterogeneity of the symptoms.

In addition, mean scale scores are available for the individual symptom areas.
